Colin Briskey is an innovative, evidence-based voice teacher who collaborates with students to craft a singing technique that is flexible, authentic, and empowering. Based in Cleveland, Colin is an Assistant Professor of Music Theater Voice at Oberlin Conservatory. Before his appointment at Oberlin, Colin was a Visting Assisstant Professor of Voice at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory for two years. He has also taught voice for the Musical Theatre Dance Intensive (MTDI) and Vocal Choral Intensive (VCI) at Boston Conservatory at Berklee and served on the Music, Theatre, and Dance faculty at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH. Colin has a Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre from Oklahoma City University and an Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre Vocal Pedagogy from Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where they were part of the inaugural class in that degree program.

Previously, Colin served as a board member and Vice President of Student Auditions for the Tahoma Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). Currently he serves as the Professional Development Program Director on the Board of the New York Singing Teachers Association (NYSTA).

Favorite performance credits include: Fun Home (Bruce) and Godspell (Jesus) at the Kahilu Theatre on Hawaii’s Big Island. Princess Ida (Prince Hilarion), The Who’s Tommy (Cousin Kevin), and Patience (Archibald Grosvenor) with The Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 (Roger Hopewell) with Centerstage Theater, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamboat (Ruben) with Seattle Musical Theatre, as well as Newsies (Davey), My Fair Lady (Freddy), and The Little Mermaid (Prince Eric) at Tacoma Musical Playhouse.
